Living
in Dubai
Rent? Buy? Where? How...
Dubai is fast becoming one of the leading cities in the world.
It's recognized as the tourism and commerce capital of the region,
and it is easily one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world.
Tradtional Arabic architecture is often seen side by side to stunning
modern state of the art buildings, and the surrounding desert is
an amazing contrast to the incredible city lifestyle.
It is becoming a service driven economy (no longer really an oil
driven one), and it is fast becoming a leading centre for trade,
industry, technology, medicine and telecommunications.
So, if you are planning to move to Dubai... Welcome! But where
will you choose to live in Dubai? It's not a huge city, but you'll
want to decide pretty quickly which part you'd want to make home.
The old downtown area in Deira? The amazing new areas in Jumeirah
and Um Seqquim? Jebel Ali? The new Emaar developments? Will you
rent? Buy?
The way Dubai is growing these days, you are probably better off
trying to find a place to live close to where you work. Which in
80% of the case would mean you will have to rent. Yes, you can buy
freehold property in Dubai, but these are usually in specific areas,
and they're not exactly in the middle of downtown.
By the way, the largest developer here is a company called Emaar.
They have remarkable vision and are really building the future of
Dubai, creating history every day. They are proposing to 'reinvent'
Duabi's downtown, by creating an awesome new development area right
in the middle of the new business district on Sh Zayed Road. That
will really change things in Dubai (slated for 2007?).
The real estate industry in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is major
issue as most expats living in the UAE normally rent property. This
article attempts to help those who are looking for online resources
that list properties in the various cities of the UAE, as well as
provide them with general information on renting or buying property
