Admissions requirements
All parents must complete an application form if interested in a place at JBS for their child. An application form can either be downloaded from this website, completed online or alternatively, parents are welcome to make an appointment with the JBS Admissions Centre, where they can collect an application kit, learn more about the school and discuss admission. Please note that a signed application form does not oblige the school to accept a child. Following assessment and once parents have been notified of their child’s placement decision and the registration and relevant semester fees have been paid, a contract is deemed to exist between the school and the parents/guardians, provided that the school regulations are observed. The school reserves the right to place a child in the grade level deemed to be the most appropriate, within the bounds of the Ministry of Education guidelines. After submitting an application form, parents may be invited to bring their child/children to the school’s Admissions and Information Centre, at a specified date and time. Following assessment, a decision will be reached about whether or not an offer can be made and parents will be informed in writing. The school will not enter into any subsequent dialogue about the judgement reached. Where the number of places available is exceeded by the number of applicants, parents will be advised and students will be placed on a waiting list only upon submitting a completed application. In the event of a wait list situation, parents have the right to submit an application form and fee but this may not result in an assessment. All applications for admission will be considered in light of a range of range of evidence which may vary according to the child’s age to include, as follows:
Reports from previous schools
An assessment of the student
An interview with the student
An interview with parents
