Curriculum
Kangaroo Kids vision is to develop a quest for learning and experience for children. Research has shown that this is not possible without the learner’s prior engagement and conditions which encourage learning. This is achieved in a myriad ways – from theclassrooms and equipment to developing a proper research based curriculum which is upgraded constantly.
The most important aspects of the learner centric approach are:
Optimum Teacher-Child Ratio <http://www.kangarookids.ae/cms/component/content/article/47>
Safe and Supportive Classroom <http://www.kangarookids.ae/cms/component/content/article/48>
Inclusion Policy <http://www.kangarookids.ae/cms/component/content/article/49>
Professional Development of Teachers <http://www.kangarookids.ae/cms/component/content/article/46>
The quality of teachers is also of equal importance. Apart from ensuring that the nursery’s teachers are highly qualified and trained, the recruitment process ensures that the selected individuals have qualities which invoke learning and leave a positive influence on students.
The teaching methodology is based on the premise that children enjoy learning through play, hands-on activities and social interaction. Kangaroo Kids formulates the teaching of concepts through activities, songs, games and a variety of practical experiences through which children can explore and learn about the world around them.
The children will be exposed to hands on activities, field trips, music and movement, art and craft, as well as early literacy and numeracy material.
The theme-related curriculum and a wide range of activities ensures that all the aspects of a child’s development are covered:
Language Development
Kangaroo Kids has evolved a multi-sensory reading program based on a firm Foundation in phonics, knowledge linking sounds and letters, as well as visual memory. A wide variety of exciting activities also help children acquire pre-reading skills and reading skills. Children are exposed to Arabic as a language. During the Arabic lessons, the children are introduced to basic vocabulary such as greetings, colours, shapes and animals.
Mathematical Concepts
A wide range of activities are built into the programme to provide children with meaningful experiences in problem solving, number usage and a practical application of initial number concepts. The Math programme allows for hands-on exploration, active investigation and the use of manipulatives.
Field Trips / Special Days
Children learn best through direct experiences. Kangaroo Kids organises opportunities for children to learn by seeing, feeling and doing. Through these experiences, children establish their understanding as well as acquire the social, intellectual and physical skills necessary for the development of meaningful concepts. Excursions are therefore vital components of any early education program. Kangaroo Kids organises field trips and in house visits. The children may take a trip to the Dolphinarium, Florist, Fire station, etc or will be visited by the dentist, a baker etc…
Alongside their monthly topic, special days will be organised to reflect on their learning; a day at the market, pet shop, at the farm, etc where special activities will be conducted.

Very impressed with your website. Do you intend opening a school in the near future??
Thanks Anju. No, we have no intentions of opening a school. This is a “do-good” website project – created and developed by parents to enable other parents have access to quick and unbiased information on schools in Dubai.
