Ladybird Nursery is a Montessori nursery school established in 1996. The school offers places to babies aged 12 months and above, up to children until the age of six years.

Curriculum

The nursery’s curriculum is based on the Montessori method and is designed to give children the freedom to explore and learn from the surrounding environment. This will in turn, prepare and facilitate your child’s entry into his next school.

Ladybird Nursery aims to provide your child with a balanced curriculum covering the six Desirable Learning Outcomes for Children’s Learning, as stated by the School Curriculum and Assessment authority (SCAA) in the UK. The six desirable learning outcomes cover social and emotional development, language and literacy, mathematical development, knowledge and understanding of the world, as well as physical and creative development.

In the Montessori curriculum, every child is treated with respect, given freedom within the limits of a carefully structured environment and allowed to develop naturally at his or her own pace. Children choose from a wide range of self-educating and self-correcting activities, working with each piece of equipment for as long as he or she needs to.

Montessori classrooms are prepared to encourage a child’s own natural desire to learn. The child’s love of learning is encouraged through a combination of spontaneity and meaningful activities under the guidance of a trained teacher.

Through their work, children develop concentration, motivation, persistence, discipline and a lifelong love of learning.

Facilities

The nursery has six spacious classrooms, each equipped with the newest educational equipment including Montessori materials, toys, games and a vast selection of books. There is also a large indoor play area with soft-play, a home corner and a dressing up box. The outdoor play area has sand and water play, bicycle and growing areas and an outdoor reading ‘majlis’ area. A trained, licensed nurse is on the school premises at all times.

An enhanced programme also offers: smart learning through digital smartboards, singing and music lessons, music and movement classes, Arabic lessons, a mini chefs cooking programme, science experiments and arts and crafts.

You will also need: a completed registration form, your child’s passport copy with residence visa, a photocopy of the birth certificate, two passport sized photographs, a completed medical form, the registration fee, a medical fee and a non-refundable deposit of Dhs1000 which will be credited against the last term fees.
