Everyone knows that when you come to Dubai you get to see one of the largest car shows in the world and it’s not even in an exhibition hall. Just head to your nearest hotspot and you’ll be sure to get a nice show of luxury cars parked outside.

However, Dubai also has the not so privileged set up to make the most of their money’s worth. The Dubai Municipality has set up the largest used car complex in the region to support the growing trade of used cars in the emirate.

The Al Aweer Complex has more than 130 car showrooms, an auction yard, car testing facility and an administration building. The administration building comprises of a traffic department, insurance offices, an auction company, and a bank.

The traffic department handles all the procedures required to buy and sell a car so there is no need to drive around the whole of Dubai trying to sort out the registration of your newly purchased or sold car. 

Not only are there used cars on display in the complex but every Wednesday Golden Bell Auctions organizes an auction composing of between 20 to 50 cars. Before a car can be placed in the auction it must be tested at the Eppco's Tasjeel car testing facility so sellers are requested to submit their cars by Monday. Also, on the day of the auction, all potential bidders are required to pay a refundable deposit to confirm their dedication to buying a car.

So even if you think you’re keen on buying a new car head to the Al Aweer Complex anyway. You might just change your mind once you get there.
